Board Members

Charles B. “Chip” Simmons, Jr.

Mr. Simmons is a member of the Board of Managers of Cayenne GP, LLC, which is Cayenne's general partner.  Mr. Simmons is a Managing Partner of Clear Creek Capital, LLC, an investment firm focused on energy sector investing which is based in Dallas, Texas, and which currently manages investments consisting of approximately $500 million of committed capital.  Mr. Simmons sits on the Board of Managers of Cayenne GP, LLC, on the Board of Directors for the Pharos Fund family (Pharos Gas Investment Fund, Ltd., Pharos Russia Fund, Ltd., and Pharos Small Cap Fund, Ltd.) and on the Board of Directors of Renovatio Capital, a firm engaged in the business of energy-related commodities futures arbitrage. Mr. Simmons is also actively engaged in board-level activities on behalf of Clear Creek's other energy sector portfolio companies.  Mr. Simmons received his B.A. degree with honors in Economics and Political Science, summa cum laude, from Yale University in 1984, where he was a member of Phi Beta Kappa, and his JD degree from the University of Virginia in 1987.

Neal D. Roy

Mr. Roy is a member of the Board of Managers of Cayenne GP, LLC, which is Cayenne's general partner. Mr. Roy is a Managing Partner of Clear Creek Capital, LLC, an investment firm focused on energy sector investing which is based in Dallas, Texas, and which currently manages investments consisting of approximately $500 million of committed capital.  Mr. Roy sits on the Board of Directors of AB Resources, Kerns Resources, BioEnergy International, Renovatio Capital and on the Board of Managers of Cayenne GP, LLC.  Prior to the formation of Clear Creek, Mr. Roy was at Reservoir Capital Group, a New York-based investment firm with approximately $3 billion of committed capital, where he was principally responsible for oil and gas-related investments. Mr. Roy has been instrumental in the formation of oil and gas companies owned by Reservoir, including AB Resources, which is focused on oil and gas drilling opportunities in the Appalachian Basin, Kerns Resources, a San Antonio-based E&P company focused on oil and gas drilling opportunities in South Texas, and Renovatio Capital. Prior to joining Reservoir, Mr. Roy was Vice President in the investment research department at Goldman, Sachs & Co, where he ran the Latin America energy and power group. He received an A.B. from Dartmouth College.

Advisors 

Richard Talbert

Mr. Talbert serves as Cayenne's chief technology advisor and was the owner of Cayenne's predecessor.  Mr. Talbert studied physics and chemistry in the early 1950's under Dr. F. E. Ronald, a geochemist associated wtih the California Institute of Technology.  The evolution of Cayenne's current system originated with radiometric surveys conducted with Dr. F. E. Ronald.  Mr. Talbert subsequently purchased the Ontario Testing Laboratory, where he did early work on ion-exchange columns with resin beds to separate rare earth elements.  In 1970, he formed Talbert Electromagnetic Survey Company for oil and gas exploration.  During this time, he worked with Wayne Hoylman, a geophysicist with Gulf Oil credited with the development of the airborne fluxgate magnetometer.  Mr. Talbert subsequently worked with the R. L. Burns Corporation in California and from 1975 to 1979 was a full-time geophysical consultant for Republic Steel.  In 1978, he founded Electro-Seise, Inc. and served as its CEO and principal technologist until its acquisition by Cayenne in 2006.
